COPE Health Scholars at Swedish Hospital

I have volunteered with COPE Health Scholars at Swedish Hospital in Seattle since June of 2020. I have spent over 300 hours on hospital floors assisting nursing staff, deepening my understanding of the hospital environment, and helping members of my community from far and wide.

In March of 2021, I applied and was selected to the program's Leadership Team as a Recruitment and Enrollment Coordinator. I recruit potential volunteers, perform outreach to high schools and colleges, review applications, and interview candidates for the program.

Election Connection Club

I started the Election Connection Club at my school to engage my peers in local politics. This fall, we organized a voter registration drive and registered over 60 students to vote!

Associated Student Body

In the Spring of my junior year, I was elected to my school's Associated Student Body (ASB) for the 2021-2022 school season.  Alongside four others, I represent the student body in meeting with our school's administration, planning school-wide events such as our upcoming winter dance, and engaging students in school spirit through events and social media.

Student Facilitators

I help first year students adjust to the expectations and routines of high school. I also help with school events such as open houses and dances to build community among the students.

Starbucks

I love working as a barista at Starbucks because there is always something new to learn each time I step behind the counter. I get to make connections with hundreds of customers every day while contributing to a team of dedicated and hardworking people.

Mock Trial

I have applied my theater skills in the courtroom through Mock Trial competitions throughout my high school years. In my freshman and sophomore years, I competed as two witnesses each year. In my senior year, I competed as an attorney and both of my school's teams advanced to the state competition!

Drumline

I perform at school-wide sporting events, open houses, annual fundraisers, and all-school performances as a member of the Seattle Academy Drumline. Over the years, I have progressed from playing the bass drum, to the snare drum, and finally to the tenor drums seen to the left.
